About Tracy

Tracy has over 20 years of experience in off-Broadway and regional theater as a versatile artistic leader with an extensive knowledge of the new play development and production process as well as many long term relationships with major American and international playwrights, composers, actors, directors, designers, and other theatre artists. As a director she has particular expertise and passion for creating new plays and musicals and as a writer her work has been produced on the stage, screen and for earbuds. In addition to her undergraduate degree in directing from Northwestern University, she holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from Point Park University.
Tracy is currently the Senior Artistic Producer of Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. She served as Artistic Director at City Theatre Company in Pittsburgh for 16 years leading the company to its prominent and respected place as a major incubator and producer of new plays and musicals. As a freelance director, she has worked around the country, principally on new plays. Recent productions include A DOLLS HOUSE adapted by Amy Herzog, THE MOUSETRAP and DIAL M FOR MURDER all at Guthrie Theater, EMMA adapted by Kate Hamill at Repertory Theater of St. Louis and HYSTERICAL and ATHENA, both at Thrown Stone Theatre Company in Connecticut. Upcoming work includes AND THEN THERE WERE NONE at Guthrie Theatre and ROPE at Park Square Theater. Prior to City Theatre Company, Tracy served on the artistic staffs of Manhattan Theatre Club and Hartford Stage Co.
